Wednesday 6th May - walk *** – Around Felixstowe – cloudy with rain and chilly.

I decided to give Mags early morning prom walk a miss this morning as pretty uninspiring being cloudy and chilly but when she returned she showed me a cool pic she took on her phone showing a front slowly moving down the coast so I quickly drove down to the seafront to snap it! First stop the cliff top at the end of our road as the impressive bank of cloud was reaching The Manor end! Next stop the small yellow kiosk and wheel, followed by the bowls green behind the amusements then down to Felixstowe dock view point to see what was going on. The large dredger was working close to the shore by the first berth so I watched it for ages and it was bloom’n cold! Then home to warm up under the electric blanket while sorting out my pics before getting up for breakfast and doing my exercises indoors with the fan heater on as we started to get some light rain! As our dishwasher has died we decided to walk down to Hubbards a local appliance suppler/repairer who we have known for years who have a shop in Beach Road. We were just about to set-off when the heavy rain arrived, luckily we have a big green umbrella so didn’t get wet at all! Down on the prom it was cool with some big black clouds and with the breeze light the sea was flat. A quick walk road the pier and along the really wet prom, just so much fun, we then sorted out a new dish washer from a lovely young lady which will be fitted on Monday. Then we continued onto the SeaYou cafe for a yummy cream tea for lunch. Then we had to return home as our lovely hairdresser Sue and friend of over 40 years was coming to perm Mags hair but at least the rain had stopped! We had a nice day despite the poor weather and fingers crossed it improves tomorrow!
